Choosing which MOVA globes you want to buy is not always an easy decision. With so many different sizes, colors, and products to choose from, there is a lot to consider. To make your decision a bit easier, we have created a short MOVA buying guide to help you choose the MOVA creation that suits you (or the recipient of your gift).
Not every globe is the same
First of all: what are all the MOVA products? We offer three different product lines: MOVA Globes (which most people are familiar with), MOVA Cubes, and 4″ MOVA Globes. MOVA Globes are the more ‘classic’ globes with a rotating sphere on top of a stand. MOVA Globes are available in three diameter sizes – 4.5”, 6”, and 8.5” – and in a wide variety of designs. MOVA Cubes, on the other hand, have a globe encapsulated in a transparent cube without extra stands. The cubes come in only one size and four designs. The 4″ MOVA Globe is a miniature globe with its own unique set of artistic designs. Deciding which product line you prefer is a good first step in choosing your new MOVA creation.
Budget
If you have a limited budget, we recommend a 4.5” MOVA Globe. This features the most design variations and contains all the MOVA Magic in a sleek package. Since each design starts at $160 each, this size makes a great, complete gift. If you are hoping for a more affordable entry into the collection, 4″ MOVA Globes are available starting at just $110 per globe.
If budget is less important than making a statement with your decor or gift, then our 6” and 8.5” MOVA Globes are definitely suitable for you due to their larger, more eye-catching design.
Design
With over 40 designs, there are many choices for you to make. However, our designs can be grouped into categories based on your interests.
Map Junkie: If you love maps, the World Maps collection is a good place to start. History lovers will adore the Cassini Terrestrial (in white and green) globes, which display a historical map from 1790 with authentic nautical details. Other maps in the World Maps collection show current maps and include a variety of designs, including classic, antique, and metallic maps. The World Maps collection is primarily found on MOVA Globes, with selected designs for MOVA Cubes. The blue with relief map and antique glossy finish MOVA Globes are the most popular maps.
Space Nerd: The MOVA Space collection features planets, moons, constellations, and celestial bodies from the universe that any space enthusiast will appreciate. Jupiter, Moon, Venus, and the designs Satellite view with cloud cover are among our bestsellers. The planets are available in both 4.5” and 6”.
Art Lovers: Are you a fan of Van Gogh? Monet? 4″ MOVA Globes feature famous paintings like Starry Night and Irises. If you are looking for a more unique artwork, MOVArt designs showcase creations made by local, modern artists who use their own artistic style.
Specialty: Outside of these categories, we also have various designs, including a basketball, Golden Prajma Paramita Heart Sutra, and Love.
Color
Color is a significant deciding factor when choosing a MOVA creation. Therefore, we have grouped some of our designs by color for your reference when making your decision.
Size and Space
Another thing to consider is the space where the MOVA creation will be placed. To ensure that your MOVA creation stands out while still fitting into your decor, it is important that the globe does not overpower the space or get overshadowed by other items. These are the most common spaces where people place MOVA and our recommended sizes for each space:
Narrow mantel or bookshelf: MOVA Mini
Nightstand or small desk: 4.5″ MOVA globe
Larger desk or soft table: 6″ MOVA globe or MOVA cube
Living room table, dining table, or centerpiece: 8.5″ MOVA globe
Bases
All MOVA Globes and MOVA Minis come with a standard acrylic base. The clear, minimalist acrylic base is designed to enhance the movement of the globe and create more mystery about why the globe spins. They are also easier to decorate and pair with other items. However, if you want to make it a bit more exciting, we recommend purchasing our alternative bases. Our wooden bases are best suited for decorative purposes and for placement on tables, desks, and bookshelves. On the other hand, our crystal bases are better for executive gifts and office settings. They are priced higher than the wooden stands.
