On August 21, 2017, people across the United States experienced a magnificent solar eclipse. The first solar eclipse since 1918 that crossed North America from coast to coast could be observed regardless of where one was in the country. Fortunately, some of us in the MOVA family traveled to different cities in the United States and were able to capture this special event. Here are a few pictures of our experiences.
Seattle, Washington
I was in Seattle, where I could see the moon cover 92% of the sun – a nearly total solar eclipse! The sky darkened a bit (as if looking at the sky through sunglasses) and it noticeably got cooler, so I almost needed a light jacket.

Even though it was hard to see the solar eclipse, here is a 360-degree view° cutout of my surroundings during the eclipse – you can click around the video with your mouse.

Spokane, Washington
My colleague Alex was at the other end of the state and also witnessed a 90% view of the solar eclipse. For him, it was quite a spectacle during his vacation!
St. Louis, Missouri
My marketing wingwoman Tori traveled to NYC just before the eclipse crossed her hometown of St. Louis (a city right on the path of totality). Fortunately, her mother took a few pictures and sent them to us. It must have been a phenomenal sight!
San Diego, California
In San Diego, the view of the solar eclipse was not as nice in comparison (only 60% coverage).
